Blu-ray cracked?

Janvitos @ doom9.org, claims to have also broken the Blu-ray's implementation of AACS. Although their protection does not yet account for BD+ copy-protection.

There are no BD+ movies released, how can something that doesn't exist be compromised?

With the format war, and movies coming out in a common format downloadable from the net in Full HD with no AACS restrictions, do you REALLY think disc media will survive long enough for BD+ to be implemented?

And with the price of BD/HD players, burners, and blank media, even early adoption is almost nil. Pirates won't sell BD/HD on burned discs... they'll sell 500GB HD's with 20 movies on them for 200$, a fraction the price of a player. Hook it up to a PC, and hook up the PC by DVI... bam.

Nah... the industry just lost. Suicide by DRM.
