NEC Tag Cellphone Concept: Malleable Smart Rubber
A intriguing concept from NEC Design, this Tag Soft-Shell Mobile Phone speaks directly to how cumbersome carrying a phone in your pocket can be. It also takes aim at how cell phones have become dual accessory-necessities of everyday life. Not only malleable for the convenience of wearing the phone or hanging it from a belt or bag, the phone is also conceived to perform different functions when bent into different shapes. Better still, designers have imagined the phone changing shape, from mode to mode, to best suit the needs of the user. This device is "not planned to be commercialized at this point," but we can always dream.
